Solage in Calistoga runs a 130-foot pool flanked by palm trees, plus access to The Bathhouse's geothermal mineral waters for guests who want the region's natural hot springs alongside a standard pool day. Bardessono in Yountville, LEED Platinum-certified, offers a sun-drenched rooftop pool overlooking the valley. The Meritage Resort pairs an adults-only heated pool with an underground spa cave built into the hillside vineyard.
Sonoma County
Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa runs geothermal mineral pools sourced from over 1,000 feet below the surface at the Willow Stream Spa, alongside a main pool averaging 88 degrees. The Lodge at Sonoma offers a private spa garden with twin whirlpools and two heated pools, bookable by day pass. MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa, after a full property renovation, added a new pool and hot tub set in landscaped gardens, with cabana packages that include charcuterie and sparkling wine. Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Geyserville runs a 3,600-square-foot pool open to day guests — genuinely unusual for a working winery, complete with bocce ball and a poolside cafe.
Day Pass Culture
Wine Country's pools are unusually accessible without an overnight stay — most of the properties above offer day passes through ResortPass or direct booking, often for $50–$150, making this one of the few luxury-resort regions where a serious pool day doesn't require a room reservation.
